Setting up for the first time, or not connecting? The Setup guide walks through installing the extension, enabling it in REAPER, and connecting your phone or tablet, and has a troubleshooting section for the common snags (same network, firewall, Local Network permission).

Common questions

What do I need to use MixSurface?

REAPER 7 or newer on Mac, Windows or Linux (beta), the free MixSurface extension installed in it, and an iPhone, iPad or Android device on the same network or connected by USB. See Setup.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. MixSurface talks to REAPER over your local network. No cloud, no account, nothing leaves your devices.

Is the REAPER extension safe to install?

Yes. The macOS package is signed and notarized by Apple; the Windows build is provided as a standard plugin DLL. Download only from the official links on this site.

How do refunds work?

Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple (or Google). Request a refund through the store you bought from. We can't process them directly. See the Terms.

Can I map my own plugins / EQs?

Yes, Control View lets you bind any plugin parameter or REAPER action to your own screens, and the parametric EQ supports a growing set of EQ plugins out of the box.

On my Android tablet the fader doesn't move at the start of a slow drag. Why?

Some budget Android tablets have less precise touchscreens that don't register very small or slow finger movements, so a slow fader drag can feel like it has a "dead spot" at the start before it catches up. This is the tablet's hardware, not MixSurface: other mixer apps show the same thing on the same device, and it doesn't happen on iPads or higher-end Android tablets. If your tablet has a Touch sensitivity option (on Samsung: Settings → Display → Touch sensitivity), turning it on can help. Faster, more deliberate drags always track fine.
