Build a layer from any tracks
Drums, vocals, a cue mix: pick the tracks, name the layer, switch with a tap.
MixSurface turns your iPhone, iPad or Android phone or tablet into a wireless remote for REAPER: faders, plugins and control screens you build yourself.
Needs the free MixSurface extension in REAPER (macOS, Windows, Linux beta). Two-minute install.
One free download for REAPER on Mac, Windows or Linux (beta). The app needs it to connect.
On the same local network, or over a USB cable.
It finds REAPER and loads your session.
Free. Always the latest build.
Ride levels on the Mixer. Move through the song in the Arrange. Tap a strip to open its plugins and sends in Channel Detail. Put whatever you need from anywhere on a Control View page.
This is where you control levels: ride faders, write automation and record. Set it up like a live console, with your own layers and only the strip controls you need.
What you can do
Drums, vocals, a cue mix: pick the tracks, name the layer, switch with a tap.
Flip a strip to its sends and ride them on the big fader. Pin the reverbs and cue mixes you use every session.
Tracking? Solo and rec-arm. Mixing? Bring in the automation-mode switcher.
Add a track, pick its input, set monitoring and arm it, standing next to the mic.
Live on Android · iOS in TestFlight beta
See the whole project the way REAPER draws it and move through it with your fingers. Jump to the chorus, check a take while it records, or fix an edit without walking back to the computer.
What you can do
Hold a finger on an item, then drag it in time or onto another track, even a new one. Hold on empty space and drag to box-select. One undo in REAPER.
An edit bar with Split, Delete, Mute, Ripple, Snap and Lock, and a tap on a selected item for its menu. Drag the loop on the ruler. Locked items stay put.
Tap the FX badge on an item to open its plugins: the same layouts, EQ and learn as track FX.
Drag edges to trim, corners for fades, the top half for gain. Every drag is one undo in REAPER.
Each track header gets a fader, and the selected track's full strip sits on the right.
A ruler with your markers and regions on every tab, and a region list for live sets: tap to jump, long-press to play a song next. Free.
Timeline docs →Think of REAPER's FX chain and sends, rebuilt for fingers. Every plugin on the track opens as a control layout. Use the generic one for anything, or build your own for the plugins you use every day.
What you can do
Drag bands, pinch to set Q, draw a new band into existence. MixSurface renders a close approximation of your plugin's own curve, so the shape under your fingers matches the plugin.
Mapped today
From an empty channel to a controller that's yours, in four moves. Add a plugin, get a generic layout for free, then keep it or make your own.
Open a channel's FX list in the app. Nothing loaded yet.
Store a setting in A, try something in B, flip with one tap. Each switch is one undo in REAPER.
Favourites stay on top, recents a tap away, your REAPER FX folders become tags.
Is your plugin covered? Plugin library →A live GR meter for any compressor that reports it, in your layouts and on Control View pages.
Metering: live on Android · iOS in TestFlight beta
A blank page you fill with whatever you need from anywhere in the project: REAPER actions, plugin parameters from any track, track meters and GR meters. Pages can be global, so they follow you into every project, or belong to one project. Mapping is touch-to-learn: run the action or move the parameter in REAPER and it lands on the page.
What you can do
Mastering and Mixing metering pages from a template: a super meter with LUFS, true peak and PSR on one dial, loudness history, spectrum, spectrogram, stereo cloud and VU. Pinch to zoom any meter.
The REAPER actions you use all day on big buttons: save, render, markers, your own scripts. Turn on learn, run the action in REAPER, done.
Every input or bus on one screen, next to your GR meters. Add meters from tracks and group them by section.
Reverb decay, delay time and mix-bus controls from different tracks on one screen, so you can change them mid-show without hunting through FX chains.
iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets. Layouts rearrange for the screen you're on and for portrait or landscape.
Build a layout once. If a phone needs it different, save a version for that size; the others keep theirs.
Connect a few phones and tablets to one REAPER and they stay in sync: one at FOH, one on stage.
Fine mode slows every drag down. Rest a finger on a control to zoom into a narrow range around its value.
Feel docs →Reorder, hide and add to every bar. Run any REAPER action and it becomes a button. Free.
Respond the instant you touch them, slow pushes for small moves, fast throws for big ones.
Feel docs →The extension finds REAPER by itself. No IP addresses, no OSC, nothing goes to the cloud.

Those hand you a blank grid and a manual. MixSurface already knows REAPER: it finds your machine, loads your tracks, and lays out your plugins. You build controls by touching parameters in REAPER, not by wiring a template by hand.
No. REAPER runs on Mac, Windows and Linux. MixSurface is the remote: REAPER and your plugins keep running on the computer, and your iPhone, iPad or Android phone or tablet controls them over Wi-Fi or USB.
Both. Connect your phone or tablet over your local network, or with a USB cable. No cloud, no account.
A growing set of popular parametric EQs map onto the multi-touch curve. Every other plugin still opens as an auto-built control layout.
No. MixSurface talks to REAPER directly over your local network through a free extension. Nothing goes to the cloud, and there is no sign-up.
Yes. Ride plugin parameters and faders across channels from one screen, over Wi-Fi or USB.
REAPER 7 or newer on Mac, Windows or Linux (beta), the free MixSurface extension, and an iPhone, iPad or Android device on the same network or connected by USB.
